The Scent

Spiced cardamom over bergamot and lavender up top, drying down into a smooth cedar and vetiver base. Refined, a little sweet, built for close-range charm rather than big projection. This is the fragrance a lot of people reach for on a date, and it has held that reputation since 2009.

Worth Knowing

The common complaint is longevity: the EDT fades faster than its price suggests, which is exactly why testing a small decant first makes sense before committing to a bottle. It was a 2010 FiFi Award finalist in the men's category.

Where It Came From

Yves Saint Laurent released La Nuit de l'Homme in 2009 as a warmer, spicier counterpoint to the original L'Homme. It has since spawned a large family of flankers, but the original EDT remains the reference point.
