Every decant we sell starts as a full, authentic bottle. We transfer the fragrance by hand into spray vials. Nothing is diluted or mixed. A syringe or cannula is our preferred method. The method depends on the bottle’s hardware; when it resists a syringe, we use spray-through transfer. Your vial holds exactly the same liquid as the bottle it came from.
The process
- Source. An authentic, sealed full-size bottle.
- Draw. The fragrance is transferred from the bottle.
- Seal. The fragrance goes into a spray vial, sealed, labelled with the fragrance name and size, and packed for shipping. Standard vials are glass with a screw-on sprayer. Luxury vials have a crimped-on sprayer: thick glass, except the 5 ml, which is resin and glass.
Sizes, in real terms
A 2 ml or 3 ml decant is enough to try a fragrance over several days. A 5 ml or 10 ml lasts for regular wear, and a 30 ml is for a scent you already love.
Why decants?
Fragrance is expensive to guess at. A full bottle is not cheap, and a scent that dazzles on a test strip can wear differently on your skin over hours. Decants let you wear the real thing, on your skin, through real days, before you invest in the bottle. For ingredient information, see the ingredients page.
