The Scent

Aldehydes and white peach give it a bright, slightly soapy lift, then orange blossom and lily-of-the-valley carry it into a clean musk and ambroxan base. It reads like fresh cotton and clean skin rather than anything sweet or gourmand, and it wears far longer than something this light has any right to.

Worth Knowing

The aldehydic opening is sharp, and that is the part people either love or find clinical. It softens considerably within the first half hour. Note that Valaya Exclusif is a separate fragrance released in 2025, not a stronger version of this one, so do not assume the reviews you read are describing the same bottle.

Parfums de Marly was founded in 2009 by Julien Sprecher, taking its name and its horse emblem from the Château de Marly, where Louis XV kept his stables. The house builds modern fragrances around the idea of eighteenth-century French perfumery without trying to smell old-fashioned.
