The Scent
Green apple, Calabrian bergamot, and mandarin open crisp and a little tart, closer to biting into the fruit than wearing a fragrance. Petitgrain leads the middle, green and slightly bitter, with cedar, cashmeran, and a hint of violet and pomarose keeping it structured rather than sweet. It dries down into oakmoss, musk, amberwood, and patchouli, a clean, dry woodiness that reads more office than evening. Simple, layered, and easy, built to disappear into the background of a normal day rather than announce itself.
Worth Knowing
Greenley is one of Parfums de Marly’s most straightforward compositions, built around a green, petitgrain-led heart over soft woods instead of the layered florals the house usually reaches for. That simplicity is the point: it’s designed as an easy, everyday alternative to the brand’s richer orientals.
Where It Came From
Released in 2020 by perfumer Nathalie Templer, Greenley gave Parfums de Marly a lighter, fresher option alongside its more dominant amber and gourmand releases.
About Parfums de Marly
Julien Sprecher founded Parfums de Marly in 2009, drawing on his family's deep roots in the perfume industry and his own fascination with 18th century France. The name comes from Château de Marly, a retreat built for King Louis XIV; the brand celebrates the 18th-century court of Louis XV, famous for its love of fragrance. The brand's logo features the Chevaux de Marly, the famous horse sculptures from the chateau grounds, tying the whole collection back to that era of French elegance.
