The Scent

A distinctive woody spicy gourmand built around fig and black tea. Cardamom, fig, and black tea open it up, then iris and vetiver move in, resting on sandalwood, tonka bean, and cedar. Warm, a little smoky, and genuinely different from most things on the market, it's a versatile scent that works through fall, winter, and into spring for both daytime and evening wear.

Worth Knowing

It's the creation of Mathilde Bijaoui, a well-respected French perfumer, and it later inspired an even richer Extrait version with a deeper, more resinous base, released a few years after the original.

Where It Came From

Released in 2019 as one of the earliest fragrances from BDK Parfums, helping establish the house's reputation for distinctive, well-crafted niche scents right out of the gate.

About BDK Parfums

David Benedek grew up in Paris surrounded by perfumery. His grandparents, who settled in the city after being exiled from Transylvania, opened one of the first boutiques authorized to sell prestige houses like Christian Dior back in the 1950s. David studied at the Institut Francais de la Mode before training in perfumery with teams at Givaudan and the Institut Cinquieme Sens, and he founded BDK Parfums in Paris's Palais Royal district in 2016, building a house rooted in that family history.
