The Scent

Pear and hazelnut open bright and a little nutty over frankincense, before saffron, rose and jasmine sambac build a dense floral heart lifted by osmanthus. The base is where it turns unmistakably Amouage: cistus and ambergris laid over sandalwood and akigalawood, with vanilla rounding the edges. Radiant rather than sweet.

Worth Knowing

Composed by Quentin Bisch, one of the most in-demand perfumers of his generation. Amouage's own copy calls it "a spellbinding and novel interpretation of the Amouage triad of Rose, Frankincense and Ambergris." This is the standard-strength Guidance -- Amouage also sells a separate, higher-concentration "Guidance 46" in the same collection, a different fragrance, not a stronger version of this bottle.
