Same nominal notes, same perfumer, a real shift in how it wears. The closest widely cited comparison is Davidoff's 1986 classic Zino: fragrance community discussion describes perfumer Antoine Maisondieu building Beau de Jour out of an attempt to rework it, though that account traces to community retelling rather than a citable interview. Where It Came From

Beau de Jour launched in 2019 as part of Tom Ford's Private Blend collection, the brand's more exclusive line. It moved into the Signature Collection in January 2020, repackaged into the frosted-glass flacon shared with Métallique and Ombré Leather and sold at the wider Signature price tier through mainstream retailers. Perfumer Antoine Maisondieu, also credited for Armani Code, developed both versions.
