The Scent
A rich, boozy gourmand built around cognac. It opens with a warm cognac accord, then cinnamon, tonka bean, and oak move in, resting on vanilla, praline, sandalwood, and candied almond. Sweet, warm, and a little spirited without tipping into syrupy, it's a cozy, indulgent scent built for cooler months and evenings out.
Worth Knowing
The name comes from an old winemaking term for the portion of alcohol that evaporates from barrels while aging, and it's a personal one for Kilian Hennessy, who grew up around his family's cognac cellars before starting his own perfume house. It's inspired an entire wave of affordable takes, including the Lattafa Khamrah also carried here.
Where It Came From
Released in 2020 as part of Kilian's "The Liquors" collection, a family of scents built around spirits and boozy accords, created in collaboration with perfumer Benoit Lapouza.
About Kilian
Kilian Hennessy comes from the family behind Hennessy cognac, one of the oldest and most respected names in fine spirits. He founded his own perfume house in 2007 at just 35 years old, drawing on the sense memories of growing up around his family's centuries-old cognac cellars in southwest France. The brand, now known as Kilian Paris, has grown into one of the most recognized names in modern niche perfumery, and Estee Lauder acquired it in 2016.
