The Scent
The deeper, darker evolution of a true designer icon. Sea notes, bergamot, and green mandarin open crisp and aquatic, then rosemary, lavender, and cypress move in, resting on a mineral, musky base with patchouli and amber. Clean, marine, and a little more grown up than the original Acqua di Gio. Solid wear and versatile projection make this a fresh scent for spring, summer, and beyond.
Worth Knowing
It's the work of Alberto Morillas, one of the most celebrated perfumers alive, whose credits include Calvin Klein's CK One, one of the most influential unisex fragrances ever released.
Where It Came From
Released in 2020 as a deeper, more mineral take on the original 1996 Acqua di Gio, which itself became one of the best-selling men's fragrances of all time. Profondo has since become a fixture of its own within the wider Acqua di Gio family.
About Giorgio Armani
Giorgio Armani founded his fashion house in Milan in 1975 alongside his business partner Sergio Galeotti. His first men's ready-to-wear collection debuted later that year, and Armani quickly became known for clean, minimalist tailoring that redefined modern elegance for both men and women. His work stretches well beyond fashion too, including costume design for over 100 films, and the house has grown into one of the most recognized luxury names in the world.
