Initio Parfums Privés is a Paris-based niche house built around the idea that fragrance works on a chemical level as much as an aesthetic one, leaning heavily on hedione and other skin-scent materials. Its releases are grouped into named collections, including the Hedonist Collection and the Carnal Blends Collection, and it markets every fragrance in its lineup as unisex rather than splitting its catalog by gender. As with most Initio releases, the perfumers behind individual fragrances are not publicly credited, typical for the house's in-house work.
What we carry
Rehab: clean, aromatic, everyday
Rehab is part of the Hedonist Collection, released in 2018. Bergamot and black pepper open crisp, lavender and general spice carry the heart without turning sweet, and it closes on sandalwood and musk, clean and close to the skin. Of the three we carry, it's the most wearable for daytime and office use, aromatic and easy rather than a statement scent.
Paragon: sage-forward, the house's own "Iconic" pick
Paragon, also part of the Hedonist Collection, launched in 2022 and is one of the releases Initio itself marks as "Iconic." Bergamot opens briefly before white sage takes over as the fragrance's signature note, lavender rounds out the heart, and the base moves into palo santo, black pepper, sandalwood, and agarwood, smoky and woody without losing the sage thread. Note: the full brand name is Initio Parfums Privés; Paragon is the product name, not a separate sub-line.
Narcotic Delight: the sweetest, most recent of the three
Narcotic Delight, part of the Carnal Blends Collection and one of Initio's most recent releases, launched in 2024. Cherry opens boozy and sweet with pink and black pepper for bite, cognac, hedione, and rose take over a warm, slightly narcotic heart, and it closes on tobacco, vanilla, tonka bean, cedar, and patchouli. Initio frames the Carnal Blends Collection around attraction built through hedione and carnal accords, its own stated concept, and Narcotic Delight is the most overtly sweet, fruity entry in that collection.
A note on concentration
Rehab and Paragon are both bottled as Extrait de Parfum, the most concentrated form a fragrance comes in, generally the longest-wearing and closest-to-skin of the standard strengths. Narcotic Delight is bottled as Eau de Parfum, one step down in concentration. That difference is worth knowing going in: if you've tried an Initio Extrait and found it heavy, the house's Eau de Parfum releases like Narcotic Delight will read lighter, not because the composition is weaker, but because the concentration itself is.
