The Scent

A designer take on the fresh, fruity, woody style, and one of the better value bottles in that lane. Bergamot and pink pepper open it, then leather and vetiver build the heart, finishing on patchouli, ambergris, and akigalawood. It gets compared to Creed Aventus constantly, and it lives in the same emotional space and targets the same crowd, though it trades Aventus's pineapple and smoky birch for vetiver, leather, and woods, its own distinct take. Strong, polished, and long-wearing on clothes, a versatile scent for work or weekends, most of the year.

Worth Knowing

It was built by a team of three perfumers, and the line has grown since with Explorer Ultra Blue, Explorer Platinum, and Explorer Extreme.

Where It Came From

Launched in 2019, and it's since become one of Montblanc's flagship men's releases.

About Montblanc

Montblanc was founded in 1908 in Germany by a stationer, a banker, and an engineer, Claus-Johannes Voss, Alfred Nehemias, and August Eberstein, originally under the name Simplo Filler Pen Company. Their breakthrough was the Meisterstuck fountain pen, first made in 1924 and still produced today. The fragrance line came much later, but it carries the same idea of craftsmanship and quiet status.
