What "positioned against" means here
Amber Oud Aqua Dubai gets compared to Louis Vuitton Imagination and Portfolio Neroli Canvas gets compared to Tom Ford Neroli Portofino for the same reason: similar structure, similar price bracket to aim at. That doesn't mean either decant is the same fragrance as the original. A $9 to $11 decant isn't going to match a designer bottle note for note or last as long on skin. What it gives you is a low cost way to find out if you like that general direction before you spend designer money on it, or decide the decant is enough for you on its own.
